As a figure and fitness competitor, Tina Jo Orban is a testament to how a positive self-image can help a woman bloom. As a former tomboy who grew up in Tujunga, California, the striking 32-year old actress and fitness model didn't always have a love affair with the camera. "I used to run from it," she says. "I had low self-esteem and I always wore jeans and t-shirts with my hair pulled back. I was 17 and skinny when I got out of high school." On her own at age 18, Tina Jo learned self-sufficiency at an early age. "When I was 11, I cooked form myself and cleaned the house for my mother, because my dad had to work hard to support five kids, but I wouldn't change a thing about my childhood. I'm glad I grew up like I did and knew how to take care of myself." Given her background, it should not come as a surprise that Tina Jo is open to the unexpected. "I love to travel and try new things," she says. The list now includes skiing and hiking to 10,000 foot elevations up to Mt. Shasta, Nevada. Professionally, Tina Jo has taken a stab at several endeavors, among them TJ's Mobile Fitness, a fitness-on-the-move personal training business. "I eventually suffered from burn-out, and sold the business," she says, "that's when I decided to get serious with my modeling career. Through modeling, I got in touch with myself and my femininity," she confesses. She's a style-conscious model who has a knack for mixing multi-era vintage with contemporary looks. She is constantly being compared to a young Lauren Bacall. Tina Jo's modeling career is certainly on the right track, with recent stints for Time-Warner and Sony (she's currently appearing in two new video games - one of which is NBA Slammers, where Tina Jo plays a cheerleader). And she bears it all for Playboy's Hardbodies, while flexing for MuscleMag and Ironman magazines. This model's ambition is to finish school (she's earning a degree in sociology) and to pursue a career on the big screen. Current screen credits include playing opposite Rutger Hauer and Frank Stallone in Rules of the Game (it's an action thriller and she plays a mobster's girlfriend).
